ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Follow all PSI rules and regulations

Ability to direct, supervise, and troubleshoot common issues that arise on the job

Serve as a go-between with Supervisors and Managers

Serve as the main point of contact for job-site operations

Identify the various phases of a job and assigns duties

Is responsible for monitoring the progress of the project and keeping it on track from a time and budgetary standpoint

Must insure that project meets all PSI quality standards, and give completion report to planner and Manager

Is responsible for monitoring and maintaining accuracy of the project

Must ensure that all parts of the project are complete and within tolerance

Is responsible to report all injuries and potential injuries to manager as soon as possible

Provide manager with report on productivity, safety and cleanliness at the weekly meetings

Must ensure workers are qualified and knowledgeable about their roles and make assignments according to skill sets

Ensures safe working conditions and compliance with all safe operating procedures according to PSI rules and regulations

Maintain HSE housekeeping standards

Responsible for Quarterly color coding Safety inspections

Blue mark closeout and completion within established time lines

Maintain Forward system and corrective actions

Identify and capture rework issues while providing corrective actions

Hold accountability in build process with mandatory hold points for Accuracy Control checks

Pre-planning of necessary manpower needed for schedule obtainment

Confirm Supervisor man hour commitments and completion dates

Maintain man hour backlog to a controllable level to assure schedule

Identify performance issues and implement corrective actions

Monitor all overhead costs to approved budget including tools, consumables, overtime, etc.

Establish and maintain shift turnover meeting with Supervisors

Verify and ensure maximum employee utilization through EWH (Effective Working Hours)

Performs other related duties as required and assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

Oversee the roles and responsibilities of supervisors and team members in the department.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke. Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors, and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A range of motion sufficient to perform general lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, working at heights, extended walking or standing, etc. is required. POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position. Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE

GED or equivalent and 2 years of technical training related to shipbuilding - relevant work experience will be considered

5 years’ experience in new ship construction or ship repair

Past successful experience in a similar role demonstrating leadership

Strong understanding of ship construction production drawings and system diagrams

Knowledge and understanding of normal shipyard safety rules and procedures

Above average computer skills (MS Project, AutoCAD, SAP, ERP systems and MS Office)

Strong understanding of ships machinery installation and alignment

Working familiarity with budgets, schedules, manpower & work scope.

Working familiarity with all the departments of a modern shipyard, key personnel and their roles and responsibilities
