This position is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Lab Manager and Lab Supervisor to complete ny necessary activities to test fuzzy, processed, and carryover cottonseed for quality standards. This position is responsible for sampling and testing cotton seed during two separate seasons of the crop year. Our first season consists of sampling all returned processed seed at our distribution center during our summer months. Key emphasis will be placed on properly sampling bulk boxes and bags of cotton seed. Sampling will primarily take place in our distribution center. The QA Technician will be expected to follow guidance from Client leads on how to properly sample processed seed lots and how to inspect the seed lots for visually quality issues. Our second season consists of sampling and testing truckloads of fuzzy cotton seed in a lab setting. Key emphasis will be placed on performing tests in the lab which may include but is not limited to Moisture, Temperature, Free Fatty Acid, Genetic Purity, Visual Mechanical Damage, Adventitious Presence, Seed Count, pH, Seed Appearance, and Warm and Cool Germinations. Background in biology, lab experience, or griculture experience preferred. Labor Category Scientific dditional Description This position is for the lab. It will involve lots of planting and reading of germinations for the carryover season. Lots of standing and repetitive motions. Worker Schedule This schedule will be 8 am to 4:30pm.
