Job Summary:
The Mechanical Project Engineer I position in Mechanical Engineering is responsible to perform engineering support related to all process and/or non-process equipment used in this manufacturing facility. The project Engineer I typically oversees the specification, installation, and commissioning of said equipment. The Project Engineer I also may serve as support for maintenance, repairs, and modifications to said equipment. Management may assign additional duties as needed.​​​

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited College or University or enrollment in such program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Will design or purchase systems to meet process requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles

 2. Will coordinate with other groups and oversee installation to ensure machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications

3. Will work closely with both controls and process groups in designing or purchasing new machines

4. Will coordinate building, fabrication, and installation of machine design and operation, maintenance and repair activities to utilize machines and equipment

5. Will inspect, evaluate, and arrange field installations and implement design modifications to eliminate machine system failure, or quality issues

6. Will alter or modify design to obtain specified functional and operational performance

7. Will investigate equipment failure and difficulties, diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to maintenance crew or outside technicians

8. Will study industrial processes to determine where and how application of new technology can be made to improve our processes

9. Will test ability of machines to perform tasks
10. Will determine parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures and service schedule required maintaining machines and equipment in a satisfactory condition
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Prefer experience in a manufacturing environment
2. Prefer 1 years of AutoCad, machine design or construction related experience
3. Prefer experience with natural gas burners or willing to train on their operation
4. Willing to travel 1-5 days if needed for training
5. Willing to learn the controls for natural gas burner operation and safety
6. Willing to troubleshoot and commission burners for process and non process heating equipment
7. Willing to learn and adhere to NFPA 86 Oven Safety Guidelines
8. Willing to work with our technicians to document annual gas train safety checks
