PharmaEssentia is expanding its global presence with operations in the U.S., Japan, China and Korea, along with a world-class biologics production facility in Taichung, Taiwan.Position Overview:The primary responsibility of the Managed Care Liaison (MCL) is to engage healthcare and access stakeholders in clinical, scientific, and health economic exchange for PharmaEssentia’s therapeutic area(s). This position will bring critical stakeholder insights to support health economic and outcome research projects and publications focusing on value, positioning, and unmet needs to support best possible market access. This is a highly collaborative role, providing medical and scientific support to across Medical Affairs and Market Access activities. This position is fully remote and supports our West coast Clients/Accounts (Payors, GPO, PBM, IDN, Health Systems).Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and foster scientific relationships with national & community health care decision makers- including healthcare and access decision makers, insurers, pharmacy benefit managers, specialty pharmacy and provider services, integrated delivery networks, group purchasing organizations, and community group associations/ networks.
  • Engage in scientific exchange and deliver evidence-based clinical and economic information on myeloproliferative neoplasms, the treatment landscape, and ropeginterferon alfa-2b.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of national & community managed care accounts.
  • Lead execution of medical strategy for national & community accounts aligned with Market Access Corporate Account Directors.
  • Monitor competitor activities and marketplace changes, and bring insights generated to Medical Affairs leadership team.
  • Generate insights from access decision maker stakeholders to help inform Health Economics Outcomes Research strategy and tactics.
  • Support health economics outcomes research projects, as needed.
  • Serve as the Medical congress leader at key national payor congresses- lead medical insight collection and communication, exhibit management, stakeholder engagement.
  • Provide Medical expertise and leadership to support Medical Affairs and cross-functional Market Access activities.
  • Provide HEOR medical education to Medical Affairs and Market Access teams, as needed.
  • Maintain a high level of scientific and technical expertise in hematology, oncology, and blood disorders. Develop and increase knowledge of medical literature. Prepare and present critical reviews of scientific publications and congresses, internally and externally.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Advanced Degree Required (PhD, PharmD, or MD)
  • 4 years of relevant field-based or other Pharmacoeconomics professional experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or a managed care, public sector, academic organization, HEOR research organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in hematology, oncology managed care and access landscape.
  • Comprehensive understanding of national & community managed care oncology account
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key thought leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain collaborative relationships within a dynamic cross functional team environment.
  • Strong networking skills across external and internal teams.
  • Broad experience in collaborating with research partners and in managing multiple tasks and complex projects.
  • Ability to articulate complex scientific and medical information in understandable business terms.
  • Excellent writing and oral communication skills (including presentations).
  • On-time completion of goals with high-quality results.
  • Adherence and compliance with all required regulatory and GCP guidelines.
