Essential Job Tasks:

  •  Design and deliver daily lessons and instructional material to assigned scholars to support both whole group lessons and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the learning needs of each scholar ensuring 100% of scholars meet their projected growth goals
  • Identify, record, reflect on student needs and cooperate with the professional learning community to assess, plan, monitor, and implement methods to solve student health, attitude, and learning concern
  •  Establish and maintain high standards of student behavior needed to achieve an optimal learning atmosphere in the classroom, maintaining 80% or greater of scholars throughout the year
  • Provide a functional and attractive environment in the classroom conducive for learning and aligned to the curriculum ensuring 85% scholar satisfaction on classroom surveys
  • Adhere to PLA’s behavior policy
  • Administer assessments in a variety of forms (formative, summative, standardized, etc.) in accordance with PLA’s testing programs
  • Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare student reports, and communicate with parents regarding child’s progress
  • Communicate with parents, administration, and colleagues in a timely, effective manner
  • Actively participate in professional development and the professional learning community
  • Share in the sponsorship of student activities and participate in faculty committees as agreed upon
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Preferred Credential OR Enrolled in an accredited teacher licensing program
  • Knowledge of child cognitive development and various learning styles
  • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data
  • Strength in using data to drive instruction
  • Willingness to align your mission with the vision of PLA’s Core Values
