was established in 1924 and has become Cleveland’s premier family country club. Located in beautiful Cleveland, Tennessee, Cleveland Country Club is a full-service, year-round club featuring an exquisitely designed 18-hole, par 72 golf course, six tennis courts, and swimming pool facilities.

The Clubhouse features a gorgeous ballroom, with the ability to accommodate up to 300 guests, 2 private dining rooms, a formal dining room complete with a charming fireplace, and 2 restaurants.

Cleveland, Tennessee :

is the county seat and largest town in Bradley County, located just north of Chattanooga. Cleveland is a vibrant city with a low cost of living.

The Course :

Our exquisitely designed 18-hole, par 72 golf course provides a unique challenge to the accomplished golfer, as well as accommodating the novice golfer.

Complete with a unique two-way driving range, an extra-large practice putting green, and a chipping and pitching green with two sand traps, our facilities are sure to exceed all your expectations.

Cleveland Country Club golf course is open for member play Tuesday-Sunday year-round. In addition to open play, the Club hosts several special events and tournaments throughout the year for gentlemen, women, and juniors.

Position Description :

The Head Golf Professional is a strong leader that is genuinely passionate about golf and enjoys the interaction with all types of members.

The Head Golf Professional works within the Operating and Capital Budgets as approved by the Board and members and shall serve as an ex-officio member of the Golf Committee.

The ability to provide an unparalleled level of service and actively engage all segments of the Cleveland Country Club membership is paramount to this position's success.

The Head Golf Professional at Cleveland Country Club acts as the club’s ambassador of golf and must be fully engaged in all areas of golf operations management, administration, business and financial activities.

Reporting Structure :

The Head Golf Professional reports to the General Manager.

The Head Golf Professional at Cleveland Country Club will have the experience and knowledge to build a premier golf operation and strong team to exceed the expectations of the Board of Directors and the General Manager.

• Highly visible, approachable and engaging with all segments of membership at the club
• Strong leader and mentor, able to assemble and develop a goal-oriented and continuously improving service-focused team
• Strong diplomacy skills, able to consistently and effectively enforce club rules, especially in challenging situations, and to develop subordinate staff to do the same
• Develop and oversee an innovative golf instruction program targeted at growing interest in golf in all market segments, including : beginners, men, women, juniors, seniors, couples
• Maintain an acceptable balance between golf instruction and being highly visible to the membership
• Facilitate an engaging, innovative, and inclusive junior golf program
• Collaborates daily with all department heads, specifically the General Manager and Golf Course Superintendent
• Effectively works with club committees, always open to suggestions and new ideas
• Service-minded leader with an outgoing communication style that fosters team buy-in
• Highly skilled merchandiser with strong business acumen capable of developing and executing state-of-the-art buying plans focused on high-end product lines and excellent profitability

Specific Duties & Responsibilities - include, but not limited to :

Golf Operations & Financial Management

• Oversee daily operations
• Promote and coordinate all golf programs
• Develop and manage quality tournament programs
• Develop and manage golf instruction and training programs
• Play and actively engage with members
• Oversee branding and merchandising
• Recruit, train, and supervise the golf operations team
• Maintain appropriate payroll records and related data
• Business and Financial Operations
• Prepare golf operating budget and business plan with proper monitoring and follow up
• Optimize financial and operational performance
• Maintain accurate inventory and other financial records
• High level of engagement and approachability with all types of members
• Initiate player development programs focused on growing women’s and junior golf programs
• Frequent and meaningful interactions with junior and women’s programs
• Enhance outside guest services, ensuring a high degree of member / guest name recognition

Candidate Qualifications :

• Class A, PGA Member in good standing or Level 3 Associate (Experienced Assistant Professionals are encouraged to apply)
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• A verifiable career track that demonstrates a record of effective leadership and commitment
• High-level proficiency in Golf Genius and other technologies
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills in written and verbal formats
• Ability to maintain a professional image within the club and the Tennessee Section PGA
