Overview

Located on the foothills of the Franklin Mountains with a sweeping panoramic view of beautiful El Paso, TX, and its bordering neighbors, Coronado Country Club is looking for it's next Assistant Golf Professional.

As a member of the golf shop staff, you will assist in the management of all aspects of the golf operation.

You would be joining a club that is currently undergoing a greens reconstruction project (expected completion date early August).

All the greens complexes and practice facilities have been redesigned and built to USGA specifications. Once completed, we see Coronado Country Club becoming one of the best golf destinations in the southwest.

We are looking for our next team member to help us become one of the best clubs in the country.

Experience Required

PGA or LPGA Member in good standing is required.

Essential Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Head Golf Professional enthusiastically promote golf and golfing by / promoting / organizing / conducting activities such as men’s / ladies / juniors clinics & tournaments;

play golf with members of all skill-levels to generate enthusiasm.

Assists the Head Golf Professional for the direction, coordination and evaluation of golf operations; manages, supervises and evaluates the personnel function to include but not limited to cart shed / bag / club storage staff, ranger staff and outside golf staff, in accordance with the Club’s polices and applicable laws.

Provides services to register members and their guests for daily play and at the conclusion of play, provide daily reports of rounds played, merchandise sold, lessons given, with the accompanying closeout reports from all revenue sources.

Maintains pro shop inventory system and orders supplies associated with golf activities. Receives and displays merchandise.

Additionally, must assist the inside staff to keep the shop clean, neat and professionally merchandised at all times.

Keeps golf shop supplies stocked and notifies the Head Golf Professional when items are running low.

Communicates with the Head Golf Professional on golf course and practice range operation, maintenance and rules.

Oversee Club tournaments and related events as directed by the Head Golf Professional, by attending to the detail of staff dress, scorecards, scoreboards, and presentation of awards.

Verification of guest handicap from other clubs.

Be open and interested in members’ suggestions, resolving issues as they arise, including presentation of more difficult issues and possible solutions to the Director of Golf.

Assist the Head Golf Professional by supervising marshals for tournaments and at other times as determined by the golf committee to ensure safety, golf etiquette, and pace of play.

Supervise proper charging to member’s accounts for the collection of fees from guests, green fees, cart fees, merchandise and services.

Represent the Club in professional golf activities in a reputable, professional manner with the approval of the Head Golf Professional.

At all times will protect both the tangible and intangible assets of the Club and employees.

Assume the role of managing the golf operation in the absence of the Head Golf Professional.

Any other duties assigned by the Head Golf Professional.
