The Assistant Golf Professional assists with the budget by providing input on golf shop inventory, pricing, and monitoring expenditure information.

Individuals in this position receive general supervision from the Head Golf Professional who reviews their work through reports and performance appraisals.

Experience Required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

• Driver's license.
• Proof of a passed PGA Player Ability Test.
• Experience handling customer service requests and complaints.
• Experience entering data into spreadsheets.
• Work experience procuring golf equipment and products.

Essential Responsibilities

• Supervises staff by planning, assigning, and reviewing work, ensuring rules are being enforced, and providing training.
• Prepares, monitors, and administers departmental budget by reviewing spending trends and expenditure reports, consulting with personnel, analyzing financial data, and presenting an annual budget based on financial data and department needs to ensure that expenditures are within annual budgetary limits.
• Performs public / community relations activities such as interacting with schools, youth programs, and golf lessons to promote the golf course to local businesses, organizations, groups and individuals.
• Offers and conducts private golf lessons for course patrons by teaching equipment selection, strategy, and golf skill instruction.
