Job Title: Assistant Project Manager/Estimator

Job Description:

Summary:

The Assistant Project Manager (APM)/Estimator is responsible for estimating, planning, documenting, scheduling, organizing, and evaluating the construction projects for the special projects team. This person will lead by example ensuring safety, training and personal conduct is being held to the PG Arnold standard. The APM/Estimator will report to the SP Senior Project Manager and is responsible for estimating projects and running those projects to completion with the assistance of SP Division.

General Responsibilities will include the following:

· Material & Subcontractor pricing and procurement, obtaining multiple bids for scopes of work and maximizing savings where possible.

· Assist Field Superintendent with Schedules and conduct a regularly scheduled meeting for quality control and required standards.

· Work with entire project team to ensure clean and swift job completion.

Estimating/Pre-Construction:

· Assist Senior Project Manager with estimating of special projects.

· Review potential project bid documents and request for proposals.

· Completion of bid packages for future SP projects.

· Collect pricing and create SP proposals.

· Coordinate with all bidding subcontractors to ensure proper coverage for projects bidding.

Accounting/Project Management:

· Monitor labor and material costs to maximize profits of all jobs.

· Process invoices for SP work to bill clients.

· Work with company controller for internal invoices processing and management.

· Coordinate with Project Team – Project Manager and Superintendent on managing individual project budgets.

Knowledge and Experience:

· Ability to write Subcontractor Project Contracts, Change Orders, RFIs, Submittals, etc…

· Ability to set up and run a construction project.

· Must have Cost code knowledge and estimating of said cost codes.

· Must have experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction software.

· Ability to plan review and have general knowledge of all jobsites in case coverage is needed.

· General knowledge of accounting systems, including AR, AP, payroll, and timecard adjustments.

· General knowledge of estimating software and bidding process.

Skills and Abilities:

· High drive to succeed coupled with excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills.

· Ability to quickly interpret and master project contract documents.

· Ability to plan, direct and coordinate professional and sub-professional project teams.

· Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to manage multiple projects concurrently.

· Strong computer skills to and knowledge of project management software, scheduling software and basic office software packages.

· Organization – maintain an organized jobsite.

· Problem Solving – find most cost effective, safe, and efficient way to perform work daily.

· Friendliness – maintain positive attitude and relationships with all subcontractors, co-workers and clients.

Work Environment:

· Work will be split between office and field, as necessary.

· Occasional work from home is acceptable as needed.

· Must be available to company personnel through email and phone.

· Visits to jobsites on a regular basis.

· Constant communication with both field and office is essential.

· Occasional jobsite coverage.

Requirements:

· Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s License

· Must have a clean criminal record for work in educational facilities.

· Must have a clean driving record to operate PG Arnold vehicles.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
