Education

Required -Enrolled in good standing in an accredited College of Pharmacy or graduate who has successfully passed the NABP Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination

Work Experience

Required -Experience working with standard Pharmacy and office equipment

Certifications

Required -Current Pharmacy Intern Permit from the State Board of Pharmacy, permitted to practice as a pharmacy intern by the Board of Pharmacy in the state of practice

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.

• Must be proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Must be able to travel throughout and between facilities.

Job Duties

• Prepares IV admixtures and other extemporaneous compounds.

• Demonstrates professional growth.

• Stocks and fills medication orders.

• Completes assignments and projects.

• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
