Reports to: Engineering Manager
Location: Nor-Cal Products, Inc. dba Pfeiffer Vacuum Valves & Engineering (Pfeiffer Vacuum V&E)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY
An engineering support specialist provides support to CAD drafters/designers, and other engineering personnel, by preparing information so it can be effectively processed. This individual will interface with other departments as necessary to gather information and will also utilize various computer software programs to perform assigned duties and tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities
None.

Duties
  • Provides support to engineering by preparing ECOs & their supporting documentation for review and implementation.
  • Provides support to engineering personnel by preparing order & estimate documentation for review and implementation.
  • Works with engineering personnel and vendors to quote Long Lead Material.
  • Process simple purchased part sales orders.
  • Maintains Excel Logs, ECO, QT & Engineering.
  • Interfaces with customers in requesting/receiving information, DWGs, Models, spec sheets, etc.
  • Send Customer's drawings for Approval for some Eng. Team Members.
  • Assist Document Control as needed.
  • Uses Adobe to redline/scrub drawings.
  • Utilizes ERP system for simple searching and information gathering.
  • Data entry tasks in ERP system.
  • Interfaces with vendors in requesting and/or receiving information. DWG's, Models, spec sheet, etc.

75% inside, climate / noise-controlled office environment, 25% manufacturing shop floor; lifting to less than 50 lbs. Eye, hearing, and Cleanroom protective equipment must be worn as required.
Tasks require walking, sitting, bending, reaching, mobility, frequent lifting and pushing/pulling. Work requires computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, and data-entry), attention to detail and accuracy. Communication skills including listening and speaking are required for interaction with other employees, vendors, and customers. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to balance multiple tasks and any stress associated with the duties and responsibilities of this position are essential requirements in the performance of this job.
Secondary duties with added requirements may be assigned from time to time.

General Qualifications
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to use ERP system for basic tasks.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Minimum 1 year of administrative experience; (preferred experience in manufacturing environment).

Language Skills
Good verbal and written communication skills.

Mathematical Skills
Basic mathematics skills.

Reasoning Ability
Able to work in a fast-paced shop, with quickly changing work priorities, and with minimal interaction to complete assignments on time.
