Pewaukee Veterinary Service is Hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician Near Pewaukee, WI

Pewaukee Veterinary Service, a family owned and operated business for over 45 years, is seeking a full-time OR part-time Veterinary CVT to join our busy 7 Doctor Practice.

We are a fast paced hospital offering the latest in patient care, surgery and rehabilitation services. We have in house lab machines, digital radiology, digital dental radiology, ultrasound and CT imaging and minimally invasive surgical techniques including endoscopy and laparoscopy.

Responsibilities

While under the supervision of the Technician Manager, you must be able to perform the following duties that include but are not limited to-

  • Preform and assist in patient surgeries and treatments: including but not limited to; anesthesia induction and monitoring, medical treatments, fluid therapy, etc.
  • Perform routine laboratory diagnostics, including use of blood chemistry analyzer, CBC, urinalysis, skin and ear cytology
  • Obtain and interpret vitals, including temperature, respiratory rate, heart rate, blood pressure, etc while working with the Veterinarian
  • Are proficient at performing phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, collecting urine via cystocentesis, digital radiographs, nail trims etc.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records including documentation, calculating medications dosages, and proper routes and administration.
  • Must enjoy working as part of a team while mentoring and training co-workers

Qualifications

  • 2 years of prior experience is required
  • Animal handling experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliable, positive attitude, flexible and approachable
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
