Job Description: Kennel Technician

Petland is looking for a compassionate kennel technician to oversee the health and wellness of the animals. The ideal candidate must be dedicated to providing excellent care for the pets at Petland by following Petland systems and procedures.

Job Duties:

• Must perform opening, daily and closing procedures in the kennel by following procedural checklists resulting in cleanliness that is flawless.
• Ensure that all animals' health is monitored daily; keeping proper records.
• Provide proper nutrition daily; consumption is monitored and recorded.
• Assist Veterinarians with animal examinations, and provide care and medications as prescribed by the Veterinarian.
• Help maintain records and folders kept for puppies and kittens.
• Perform other cleaning tasks in and around the kennel
• Lead Kennel Technicians have the additional responsibility to provide training and coaching to other Kennel Technicians and will oftentimes be “key holders”.
• Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements and Skills:

• Proven work experience as a Kennel Technician or similar role
• Work requires continuous standing, walking, and utilization of hand and finger dexterity
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
• Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
• Occasionally exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• 2 Experience with Animals Required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week

• Kennel Technician: 1 year (Preferred)
