The Social Worker, in collaboration with the clinical team, provides patient and family advocacy, discharge planning, and psychosocial intervention. The Social Worker strives to promote patient and family wellness, improved care outcomes, and access to appropriate hospital and community resources. When indicated, the Social Worker will assist with crisis intervention and legal reporting requirements.

Education
Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Social Work
Preferred: Masters Degree

Technical Skills
Required: Basic computer and keyboarding
Preferred: Meditech Electronic Medical Record

Licensure/Certification
Required: Licensed in the state of Texas, BLS (if not currently BLS certified, must complete within two months of employment, and thereafter renew within one month of the recommended date of renewal)

Experience
Required: Three years of social work experience
