Poplar Springs is seeking a PRN Receptionist to help monitor telephones, assist visitor process, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Hours will vary and applicants need to have flexibility with his / her availability.

Qualifications

Position Requirements :

Licensure / Certification / Registration : N / A

Education / Experience :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have sufficient hearing capability to receive and place calls and sufficient manual dexterity (eye hand coordination) to operate switchboard equipment;

as well as pleasant telephone and paging voice.

• Previous switchboard or reception experience preferred.
• Must be able to deal with the public in a polite, positive and professional manner; utilize judgment in receiving guests, as well as in receiving , transferring calls and / or taking messages;

handle stressful situations and people in a calm manner; demonstrate an ability to remember names, faces and locations of staff, allied health professionals and physicians.

Must maintain strict confidentiality of hospital and patient information.

General Requirements :

• Must be at least years of age per Commonwealth of Virginia Interdepartmental Regulation of Children’s Residential Facilities. (VAC , pg. )
• Must have patience, tact, and a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
• Good communication skills; must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Basic clerical skills, basic experience with office equipment (telephone, copy machine, fax, etc.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to problem solve and accept feedback when circumstances warrant such actions.
