Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Procurement Coordinator to join our team. This position is a member of the purchasing/supply chain team. The ideal candidate will purchase products and coordinate its delivery from domestic and international locations to Peter Grimm facility in San Marcos, CA. This is an office job with data entry skills required. This is not a warehouse position.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
- Manage supplier relationships to negotiate contracts and secure advantageous terms.
- Follow special customer’s manuals to ensure product is ordered correctly.
- Order raw materials and finished goods from factories domestic or internationally.
- Verify and confirm pricing, materials, and purchase orders with factories and suppliers.
- Organize and maintain factory samples.
- Communicate with domestic and international factories and suppliers on a regular basis via email, phone, and/or other communication methods.
- Coordinate logistics transportation of materials or finished goods domestically or internationally.
- Review work in progress (WIP) with factories and suppliers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products that offer value.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage supply chain logistics to optimize efficiency.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Work with Quality Assurance and the Design team as necessary to ensure quality and correct production.
- Work with Sales team to ensure product purchase is accurate and timely.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience:
- Education: High School diploma or Equivalent.
- Proven experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and supply chain management. Experience in fashion industry or working with vendors is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and NetSuite.
- Strong knowledge of MRP systems, logistics, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
- Ability to work in an office environment and with other people.
- Ability to multi-task and work without constant direction.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
