Shipping Coordinator / Office Clerk

An established sales and import company in the floral industry is seeking a Shipping Coordinator / Office Clerk

We are looking for a clerical staff member to participate in our working between our Chamblee warehouse operations and office in Peachtree Corners activities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Perform shipping and receiving duties
• Verify and keep accurate records on incoming and outgoing shipments
• Determine appropriate method for shipment utilizing software platform and contacting shipping companies directly for quotes.
• Meet shipping deadlines to ensure customer satisfaction and service requirements
• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments, record damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to notify them of damages and shortages
• Count incoming and outgoing shipments accurately
• Affix shipping labels on packed cartons or pallets
• Ability to effectively perform similar functions on the floor at any point in time
• Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits
• Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization
• Complete diary logs into inventory
• Report any discrepancies
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
• Operate and preventatively maintain office and warehouse vehicles and equipment
• Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
• Valid motor vehicle driver's license
• Transport materials and documents between internal facilities
• Perform duties and report to work between internal facilities

Skills/Competencies:

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to interact with all levels of management, both internal and external, and customers; with a focus on customer service
• Computer proficiency with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and Windows-based programs
• Organized, flexible, and able to multi-task while maintaining a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
• Excellent attention to detail, being thorough in completing tasks, ability to detect problems and report information accordingly
• Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable to fulfill obligations
• Must be willing and able to practice adaptability, with a growth mindset and willingness to learn
• Engage and support company safety culture and efficient operation of the business and maintain positive working relationships with employees across the organization
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Prefer shipping and/or receiving experience with an operating knowledge of bill of lading, material shipping orders, packing slips, and other freight bills

Education:

• High school degree or GED
