Peruvian Connection is Hiring a PRODUCT INFORMATION ASSISTANT Near Tonganoxie, KS

ABOUT THE JOB:

Peruvian Connection LLC is looking for a super organized, detail-oriented applicant with excellent English and Excel skills, an interest in fashion/accessories and the ability to travel internationally for two weeks multiple times a year. This entry-level position will work within our Tech Design team, as well as working closely with our Design, Photoshoot, Merchandising and Creative teams. This position is responsible for communicating product information regarding apparel and accessories to our copywriter and customers via website, catalog, retail stores and contact center in the US and abroad. You must be a self-starter and team player who is willing to drive to Tonganoxie, KS every day. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Technical Copywriting
    • Collect product information by:
      • attending initial product fittings.
      • consulting Tech team as necessary regarding accessory product details.
    • Photograph all benchmarks and photo samples as needed for copywriter call and for validation of information being provided and add images to Dropbox.
    • Create catalog names for pre-buy accessories and other products as needed.
    • Create a chart which contains gathered information from a variety of sources as well as specific descriptive information i.e., specific color, stitch, silhouette and design inspiration for all items being offered in the catalog and deliver to the copywriter in accordance with the production schedule.
    • Send swatches of color references to the copywriter.
    • Schedule and lead conference calls with contract copywriter to review questions about the product information.
    • Follow up and respond to inquiries from the copywriter in a timely manner.
  • Develop and Present Product Review Presentation
    • Using technical information, copy, design inspiration, feedback and images from the photo shoot, develop a PowerPoint presentation of the catalog. The presentation is used to educate staff about each new collection and to answer any questions.
    • Share information regarding design inspiration.
    • Maintain glossary for call centers and stores.
    • Maintain pronunciation guide for call centers and stores.
    • Present an abbreviated version to other departments as needed such as packing, receiving, retail team, etc.
    • Provide timely feedback to all staff questions so they have the tools necessary to provide seamless customer service.
  • Ecommerce Support
    • Provide web copy based on the original file developed for the copywriter to maintain consistency between channels.
    • Provide key words to ecommerce for each new collection to be used in search.
    • Provide cross-sells for web sites.
    • Complete feed file template of attributes for each collection.
    • Provide correct accessory compositions and metal terminology needed for all websites.
  • Location Shoot
    • Member of location shoot team rotation, primarily responsible for still life coordination and updating the shot sheet daily, but also contributes as needed to assist with the fashion shoot supporting the dressing of the models and supporting the stylist, etc.
    • Update shot sheet for Image Review following each photoshoot and submit all changes to the copywriter.
  • Product Expert
    • Point person for marketing, sales and service staff product related questions and inquiries i.e., fit, color, etc.
    • Manage color description project used by sales and service to describe colors to customers.
    OTHER DUTIES:
    • Product Coordinates
      • Work with design to identify alternative coordinates for key items in the collection.
      • Document in a master spreadsheet and send to the Sales and Service Manager.
    • Style Notes
      • Create and communicate style note information needed to assist sales and service staff by providing the best information possible to our customers by adding scripts in D365 and communicating to ecommerce.
    • Review copy and participate in copy edit meetings.
    • Attend production fittings.
    • Attend returns meetings.
    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
    • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textiles, Apparel Design or Creative Writing with an interest in apparel preferred.
    • 0-2 years of equivalent work experience.
    SKILLS REQUIRED:
    • Microsoft Office, with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills
    • Strong communication and presentation skills
    • Accuracy and attention to detail
    • Ability to work with other departments and outside sources to accomplish goals
    • Ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines
    • Ability to multi-task
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • Sitting, standing, speaking, writing, keyboarding, visual acuity
    • Ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
