Perspective Therapeutics is Hiring a Remote Planner, Radiopharmaceutical Production and Planning

ObjectiveThe Planner, Production and Logistics is responsible for facilitating and leading distribution of finished Radiopharmaceuticals to clinical sites for both investigational and commercial drug products. S/he is responsible for setting goals and objectives that ensure overall integration of manufacturing and planning policies, processes, programs and operational efficiencies. Additionally, the Planner, Production and Logistics ensures maximum utilization of available manufacturing capacity which includes labor, tools and equipment, and has ultimate responsibility for guiding the distributed transportation team to ensure each and every delivery meets Perspective Therapeutics’ world class standards.

Essential Functions
  • Plans and coordinates the transportation of isotopes from production facilities to distribution centers and end-users. This includes scheduling shipments, arranging for transportation services, and monitoring delivery timelines.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations governing the transportation, storage, and handling of radioactive materials, including those set forth by government agencies such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) or International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for production team, Perspective clinical team members, and clinical sites regarding their isotope orders. Provides timely updates on shipment status and addresses inquiries and concerns.
  • Continuously evaluates logistics processes to ensure most efficient, reliable, and cost-effective deliveries.
  • Owns the patient dose calendar, which tracks and communicates all necessary radiopharmaceutical patient logistical information.
  • Receives, countersigns, and returns all clinical dose order forms quickly and accurately.
  • Identifies and mitigates potential risks associated with the transportation and handling of isotopes, such as regulatory non-compliance, supply chain disruptions, or security issues.
  • Interacts with various health care professionals throughout the production life cycle, clearly communicating distribution plans, alternative routes, and alternate production scenarios. 
  • Coordinates radiopharmaceutical production planning tasks impacting multiple operational teams at various sites. ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness.
  • Takes ownership and accountability for the production process, assigned production area, and associated documentation.
Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with 7 plus years' experience in Radiochemistry, Nuclear Pharmacy, Nuclear Medicine, Logistics Management or a related field. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, chemistry, or a related field plus 2 years of relevant experience is required. Advanced degree or certification in radiation safety or nuclear science is a plus.
  • Expertise in radiopharmaceutical distribution, understanding of the nuances of time-critical delivery methods including both ground and air transportation; and experience in transportation regulations including the U.S. DOT, U.S. NRC, as well as applicable laws of agreement states highly desired.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to generate reports and presentations essential.
Knowledge / Skill / Ability
  • Deep understanding of process flow and internal workings of busy nuclear medicine departments, including open hours, after hour delivery scenarios, and scheduling.
  • Must possess a flexible mindset and be an agile thinker developing solutions quickly when problems arise.
  • Demonstrated record of high productivity and results.
  • Strong writing, presentation, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work across multi-disciplinary groups and to lead decision-making discussions.
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal and collaboration skills, and ability to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals and organizations, internal and external.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and drive deliverables through to completion by deadlines provided.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work.

  • Must be willing to work in a facility producing radioactive materials and requiring all employees to participate in safety programs designed to minimize potential and/or actual exposure levels.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of 8 hours a day while performing duties.
  • Must be willing to wear a variety of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including eye and hearing protection, as needed.
