JOB SUMMARY: Assist Billing/Receivables Managers in all aspects of billing and collections.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

**Please Note** The ideal candidate will have relevant Medical or Home Health care medical billing/collection experience to be considered for this role.

1. Data entry and billing transmittals

2. Assists with accounts receivable and collection activities

3. Compiles and completes all statistical reports as requested by the Billing/Receivables/Collections Managers.

4. Obtains and reviews all required reports according to MIS policy. Notifies Billing/Collections Managers of any problems and/or discrepancies.

5. Data entry all new patient information into the master patient file and verifies insurance coverage for the patient online, when appropriate.

6. Prepares and submits cash receipts reports.

7. Assist with phone reception as needed.

8. Familiar with Medicare insurance billing.

9. Any other duties as assigned by the PBR Manager, Reimbursement Manager and Billing/Collections Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School graduate or equivalent.
2. Minimum of one (1) year of Billing, data entry, and 10-key punch experience, preferred.
3. Ability to interpret and effectively communicate insurance regulations
4. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
5. Must be customer service oriented, detail oriented and an above average communicator
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Well organized, accurate, and thorough.
8. Ability to prioritize tasks, ensuring the most critical/urgent matters are handled in a timely manner

FUNCTIONAL ABILITIES

• Must be able to read 12 point or larger type
• Must be able to adequately with no more than an amplifier on the phone and to speak in a manner understood by most persons
