Buyer/Planner

The Buyer/Planner is a core member of the supply chain/ production support team. In this position you would be responsible for assisting in production scheduling, managing materials inventory and scheduling of mix production to ensure we optimize production of products.

Essential Duties:

• Manage raw materials use in mix and finished goods production
• Create PO’s for any items that need to be ordered and manage Purchase Orders with Counterpart and Purchasing
• Manage supplier relationships for raw materials
• Manage outgoing reports ex. Production analysis reports, data base management, costing reports etc.
• Build a strong relationship with Purchasing Team to assist in the day-to-day activities necessary for positive and efficient production
• Work daily with inter departmental leads to find positive solutions from finance all the way to production
• Handle pricing updates on raw materials on a weekly and monthly basis
• Manage contracted pricing and purchase order pricing according to terms with market value supplier
• Run and distribute month end reporting, ex NYS month end report, FDA audit reporting, USDA survey/reporting
• Enter, Report and Audit internal item setup and verification through ERP system to ensure it is working correctly in our planning system
• Execute “Hard Copy” Process in order to certify production and relieve raw material usage
• Participate as the representative for the Supply Chain Group in mock-recalls and audits with quality team to ensure full visibility in the production process and ability to meet governing entities standards
• Act as mentee and back up for Master Production Scheduler

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 2 yrs. experience in manufacturing/ scheduling and or Experience in materials management or understanding of this process.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, preference in Supply Chain Management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite; (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
• Preference in experience with ERP’s ex. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics etc.

Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000 annual salary commensurate with experience and other qualifications
