Position Summary:

Perrone RX, an independently owned pharmacy, is seeking a dedicated Sterile Compounding Technician to join our team for the daytime shift. In this critical role, you will be responsible for preparing sterile medications in a controlled environment, ensuring adherence to strict aseptic techniques and regulatory guidelines to guarantee patient safety and medication efficacy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compounding Sterile Medications: Prepare and compound sterile medications, including IV solutions and injectables, using aseptic techniques.
• Quality Control: Perform quality control procedures to ensure the sterility, potency, and stability of compounded medications.
• Aseptic Technique: Strictly adhere to aseptic techniques and protocols to prevent contamination.
• Documentation: Accurately document all compounding activities, including batch records and compounding logs.
• Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain compounding equipment and facilities according to standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Follow all applicable state and federal regulations, including USP <797> and USP <800>.
• Patient Safety: Ensure all compounded medications meet the highest safety standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely medication preparation.
• Training and Education: Engage in ongoing training to stay current with sterile compounding practices and regulations.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: Active Pharmacy Technician License with the Texas Board of Pharmacy; Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB) and sterile compounding certification required.
• Experience: Prior experience in sterile compounding is required.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent manual dexterity, knowledge of aseptic techniques, ability to follow detailed instructions, and proficiency in pharmacy software and compounding equipment.
