Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Working in cross-functional teams to define the product design requirements and ensure these requirements are satisfied.
Developing state-of-the-art power-assist medical devices - including powertrain design, power delivery electronics, sensing, feedback, and control electronics.
Developing data-driven sensing and control techniques for adaptation and customization for different environments and users across a range of power-assist devices for wheelchair users.
Translation of business and customer needs into technical requirements and functional electro-mechanical specifications.
Using engineering principles and techniques to research, design, analyze, and test new product designs, technologies, materials and prototypes during product development.
Utilizing ECAD tools to do electronic schematic capture, printed circuit board layout, and generate production documents for power and control electronics.
Researching design options and performing experiments and analysis to determine potential design feasibility or application; taking responsibility for design/development activities, which may include leading, participating in, coordinating or supporting: concept, planning, design for manufacture, and execution stages; building product prototype/bench models for proof of concept.
Creating DHF documentation appropriate for Class II Medical Devices including design and development plans, controlled design documentation, change records, and V&V documents. Coordinating and performing cross-functional Design Reviews, Risk Management activities and design mitigation.

Requirements:
You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 2 years of relevant new product development experience with durable electro-mechanical products. Medical device industry is preferred
Minimum 2 years of relevant Printed Circuit Board design in an ECAD tool such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, etc.
Experience with basics of electromagnetic compatibility considerations and testing.
Knowledge of common PCBA multilayer stackups, manufacturing, and inspection processes.
Hands-on experience with PCB assembly and initial board bring-up including fine pitch soldering, reflow, and rework.
History of experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, power supplies, and other typical electronics bench tools.
Experience with formal documentation and design review procedures.
Customer and market orientation in the identification of key needs, understanding the right solutions needed to meet customer requirements and the development of successful products
Proven experience with new product launches from pre-study and concept phase through development and commercialization
Experience with phased product development processes, stage-gate project management, and making project tradeoff decisions due to constraints.
