Perley Cable Construction is Hiring a GIS Specialist Near Springs, FL

Job Summary:

Working in the 3GIS system, the GIS Specialist will be working on high- and low-level design of fiber optic networks. This role is also responsible for taking redline construction drawings and as-builting them in the system. Working directly with project managers, field crews, and other GIS Specialists, you are expected to produce high-quality design work, free from errors, in line with our customers’ deadlines and requests. You should expect some light data analysis in the form of housing density and homes passed counts, as well as reviewing the other specialists’ design for quality control.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and map high- and low-level fiber optic networks
  • As-builting redline construction drawings in GIS software
  • Review other GIS Specialists’ design for quality control
  • Assist the GIS Administrator in meeting customer demands
  • Provide general GIS support and data analysis

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be well organized and detail oriented
  • Must be able to communicate, both in writing and verbally, in a respectful and professional manner
  • Thrives in a team environment

Education and Experience:

  • 1-2 years of telecom experience required, preferably in design work
  • Experience with either ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, or CAD is required
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction, or Geo Information Systems preferred; similar certifications are acceptable

Physical Requirements:

  • This is a typical desk job requiring long periods of sitting at a desk and staring at computer screens
  • Must be able to independently lift up to 10lbs
