Our Mental Health Technician responsibilities include some of the following:

• Care for our patients daily by obtaining vital signs, assessing their behavior, escorting them, and interacting with them continuously throughout the shift.
• Conduct direct observation rounds during assigned shift and document patients behavior.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.
• Orient the patients to the unit and assist them with the discharge process.
• Assist them with verbal de-escalation when they are agitated.
• Provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.

Please apply if you have the following qualifications for a Mental Health Technician:

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-year direct care experience with mental health patients or 1-year Corpsman experience.
• Or, have a bachelors degree in Social Work or Psychology with some experience with mental health patients
• Or be a Certified Nursing Assistant with previous experience working with mental health patients.
• Is Basic Life Support and Handle with Care certified or able to obtain both certifications during hospital orientation.
• Must be available to attend a full week of new employee orientation.

Must be willing to work 7a to 7p or 7p to 7a and rotating weekends.
