Perimeter Healthcare - Integrated Behavioral Health is Hiring a Certified Med Tech (CMT) Near Waynesville, MO

Job DescriptionPerimeter Behavioral of Missouri immediate openings for a Certified Med Tech (CMT) (to include certification in phlebotomy) for a mixed schedule of three 12-hour shifts. We are seeking individuals who are committed to improving the lives of those with mental health illness.
Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Missouri is a residential treatment facility providing care to adolescents. The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate medication administration for all assigned residents and for routinely monitoring the resident’s comfort. The position also provides hands on assistance with the daily care needs of the residents’ personal needs, grooming and hygiene, laundering, and social interactions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assists in general care and well-being of residents
  • Assists residents in activities of daily living
  • Implementing residents’ personal care plans, focusing on residents’ strengths, preferences and preferred routines, while providing a sense of comfort, companionship and belonging
  • Administers oral and external medications to residents under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LPN
  • Reports unusual symptoms and/or behaviors of residents to supervisor
  • May need to assist residents in grooming and hygiene activities
  • May need to take vital signs
  • Responsible for knowledge of resident's conditions
  • Maintains unit environment for safety of resident
  • Assists with any required duty as delegated by DON, within scope of practice
  • Assists in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis
  • Prepares and delivers snacks, etc., as instructed
  • Serves food in dining room as instructed and /or delivers food trays to rooms
  • Report any needed maintenance repairs
  • Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
  • Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices
QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • AGE
At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED. Experience working in a children's services program or in a residential setting is preferred.
L1MA certification or Med Tech certification
Certification in Phlebotomy
Experience In a Residential Living Environment Preferred.Previous Med Aide/Nurse Aide experience required with positive work references.
Must possess all required licenses and/or certifications required by State licensing authority and maintain continuing education requirements.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid driver’s license, certification in phlebotomy, L1MA certification or Med Tech certification.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policy/procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and document client behavior. Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or employees of organization.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distant, and peripheral vision, color and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee may occasionally be required to physically restrain clients, using authorized restraint procedures as a last resort for protection of client and staff.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position is a residential facility setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to clients who may ask inappropriate personal questions, display socially unacceptable personal behaviors, use profanity and sexually explicit phrases, make insulting remarks or threats regarding appearance, age, sex, or race, and exhibit defiance, dishonesty, and assaultive or self-destructive behaviors. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to occasional local travel as required by facility needs. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • MENTAL REQUIREMENT
Ability to exercise self-control in potentially volatile situations. Must be able to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation and foot traffic. Must be flexible and able to complete multi-tasks without overwhelming frustration
