PERI is currently looking for a Senior Engineer – Quality Assurance & Testing (SEQAT) to join the PERI family! The main purpose of PERI’s Senior Engineer – Quality Assurance & Testing (SEQAT) position, is to introduce new products for the North America market. The SEQAT does this by being accountable for new product development activities relating to the design for manufacture, quality of manufacture and application approvals. Leveraging PERI’s resources, the SEQAT ensures product requirements and quality standards are satisfied to PERI and industry standards. In addition, it is the responsibility of the SEQAT position to provide continuing support for manufacturing, application engineering, testing, CAPA, and product documentation.

What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Responsible for product project management from prototype to full production based upon accurate project schedules and budgets
  • Perform research and testing on product concepts, new, and existing products
  • Lead material, design, and process changes to existing products by following design control processes and analyses of defects
  • Prove product design by developing test plans, developing suppliers for both testing and manufacturing, maintaining quality standards, and approving prototypes
  • Identify areas to streamline or improve manufacturing costs and quality
  • Collect and analyze data and present test results to PERI team
  • Coordinate with manufacturing or suppliers at suitable stages, such as at initial design, to evaluate the design’s suitability for manufacturing in an efficient and economical manner, on target
  • Use industry best practices to solve engineering problems using analytical methods such as 8D RCA, DOE, and apply statistical analysis for product improvements and apply FMEA process to implement sound engineering solutions
  • Develop project plans with engineering and manufacturing (suppliers) to meet project scope and schedule for test and approvals

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applied mechanical engineering in product design and evaluation and experience in producing rapid prototypes
  • Understanding and experience in product design and development including the use of tools such as FEA, Risk Analysis, DFMA, SUS and GD&T
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to successfully manage project schedules, testing, quality assessments, and approval tracking with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion throughout the project
  • Knowledge of statistical methods / analysis, such as application of Six Sigma statistical analysis, and controls
  • Strong aptitude for hands-on engineering testing and experimentation in a test facility environment
  • Basic appreciation of CAE tools (FEA, Statics, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external customers and provide training and coaching to Engineering and Operations team members
  • Open to other’s ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new things
  • Self-motivated with a strong competitive drive, a resilient nature and a goal and results oriented mindset
  • Ability to accurately analyse situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with peers to reach a common goal Adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage time, tasks, and resources while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform DFMEA / PFMEA’s and create quality plans
  • Design Control experience including design and process verification and validation
  • Post-secondary education degree in Mechanical, Production Engineering or other related Engineering discipline
  • Construction and/or formwork industry experience is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application and computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to utilizing new technology/software
  • Exceptional verbal and written communicator in the English language
