PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS INTEGRATION LLC is Hiring a Fire Alarm Technician Near Spokane, WA

We are looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team!

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and repairing fire alarm panel systems to ensure systems and equipment continue to work according to the functional specification.

In this role you will:

  • Perform fire alarm commissioning to ensure that systems and equipment continue to work according to functional specification
  • Perform on-site routine and emergency troubleshooting, programming, and repairs, in addition to the installation, inspection, testing, and servicing of low voltage life safety product lines and fire alarm systems
  • Maintain a good positive relationship with the customer and pass on information to the appropriate personnel for follow-up, quotes, questions, or concerns
  • Identify code and non-conformance issues and correct them according to code standards
  • Write and maintain detailed work reports and service tickets
  • Read and interpret various blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and product manuals to properly program and verify systems
  • Provide customer instruction as it relates to proper device use, preventative care, and consistent maintenance to prevent future system malfunctions
  • Evaluate the customer site for additional equipment and services that the customer may require
  • Discuss deficiencies noted with a customer, explaining the problem and its resolution
  • Strong electrical and technical aptitude
  • Must possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, management, and customers, and display excellent interpersonal skills and awareness of controversial and/or sensitive issues
  • Comply with the safety requirements of the position and actively promote safe work practices
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years’ experience as a Fire Alarm Technician
  • NICET II Fire Alarm Systems or higher certification
  • EL-O6 (Limited Energy Technician) Electrical License
  • Working knowledge of NFPA Standards (including 70 and 72) Servicing Guidelines and local AHJ requirements (preferred)
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and operate basic computer functions such as Windows, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Apple IOS, and Android
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • May work near moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions
  • The noise level is generally moderate.
  • Must be able to lift, push/pull, and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Frequently lift and carry toolboxes, tools, equipment, parts, cabling, and/or wiring
  • Frequent ladder climbing, often while carrying up to 50 pounds
