Performance Physical Therapy is Hiring a Medical Billing Specialist Near Hockessin, DE
We are searching for a part-time billing specialist to assist our physical therapists in helping our patients feel better by verifying the patient's insurance coverage, submitting authorization requests to the insurance company, and communicating with our patients about their financial responsibilities.
Monday - Friday 5 days a week
10 am - 2 pm
This is a part-time position in the office, not remote.
- Verify patient's insurance coverage
- Submit authorization requests
- Communicate with patients regarding their coverage and/or billing issues that may arise
- Follow up on outstanding patient balances
- Follow up on denied claims
- Posting insurance payments/denials to patient accounts
- Maintaining incoming medical record requests
- Write and distribute emails, faxes, and forms
- Develop and maintain a filing system
- Provide general support to visitors & patients
- Strong people skills
- Ability to work independently
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook, in particular)
- Can type 50 wpm
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1 year working in an EMR/Billing system
- 1 year verifying insurance coverage
- 1 year working in a medical setting
