Job Summary

• Installs, troubleshoots, services, and repairs telecommunications and Security Systems

GeneralAccountabilities

• Reads technical manuals and brochures to determine equipment which meets establishment requirements.
• Able to interpret construction drawings/documents.
• Knowledge of cable testing equipment for category, coax and fiber optic cabling.
• Experience in TIA/EIA installation standards.
• Able to plan and coordinate installation phases. Provide written daily reports; attend safety training and construction meetings.
• Familiar with using various hand tools.
• Drives crew trucks to and from work areas.
• Inspects equipment on a regular basis in order to ensure proper functioning.
• Repairs or replaces faulty equipment.
• Removes and remakes connections in order to change circuit layouts, following work orders or diagrams.
• Demonstrates equipment to customers and explains how it is to be used, and responds to any inquiries or complaints.
• Analyzes test readings, computer printouts, and trouble reports to determine equipment repair needs and required repair methods.
• Adjusts or modifies equipment to enhance equipment performance or to respond to customer requests.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

Job Qualifications

• Education/ Experience:
• HS/GED plus 5 years of related experience or
• Two years of technical education/training plus 2 years of related experience
• OSHA 10​
