Responsibilities

Those charged with protecting the United States are not always able to access the evidence needed to prosecute crime and prevent terrorism. The Government has trusted in Peraton to provide the technical ability, tools, and resources to bring criminals to justice. In response to this challenge, Peraton is seeking a Senior Data Full Stack Engineer with Natural Language Processing (NLP) expertise to provide proven, industry leading capabilities to our customer.

  • Apply machine learning techniques in the field of NLP to process unstructured data effectively.
  • Develop parsers to extract relevant information from different media types to transform it into structured and searchable entities.
  • Create and refine domain-specific taxonomies to ensure accurate classification and organization of data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and domain experts, to understand specific requirements and design effective NLP-based data processing solutions.
  • Implement data pipelines using AWS cloud services, such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and AWS S3, to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency in processing large volumes of data.
  •  Optimize ETL processes to ensure high performance, data quality, and data consistency throughout the data pipeline.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical guidance and support for NLP-related tasks.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, along with experience working with machine learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree and ten (10) years of experience with programming and software development including analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting and/or upgrading of software systems.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Scala, or Java.
  • Five (5) years of experience architecting software solutions based on customer requirement.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes and best practices, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, and AWS S3, for implementing scalable and efficient data pipelines.
  • Solid knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance concepts.
  •  Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and present complex ideas and solutions in a clear and concise manner.
  • A current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks or Elasticsearch.
  • Knowledge of Data Dictionary
  • Knowledge of Normalizations
  • Knowledge of data acquisition and ingestion of structured and unstructured data sources ensuring quality and data integrity
  • Experience with open source technologies like Docker, ElasticSearch, and NoSQL Databases,
  • Experience with an Agile environment and have developed User Stories.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
