Peraton is Hiring a Procurement Specialist Near Washington, DC

Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing full lifecycle material requisition support to ensure that there is no lapse in access or service and the procurement of all IT falling under the purview of the agency Chief Information Officer.
  • Collaborating with the government to procure equipment to refresh non-standard and/or make emergency purchase of equipment or services as directed by the contracting officer.
  • Creating and providing a report that includes all items procured Other Direct Costs (ODCs)
  • Coordinating with desktop hardware procurement officers to receive inventory information for assets shipped directly to missions or other locations.
  • Ensuring all ad-hoc or scheduled procurements adhere to federal statutes and follow agency lifecycle asset management process for data capture, renewal, and management.
  • Verifying all new equipment deliveries against purchase orders provided by the agency procurement office and quickly address discrepancies in procured versus received assets.
  • Validating procurements are completed in the most fiscally responsible manner to meet urgent timelines needed in an emergency response environment.
  • Monitoring and tracking all procurements to ensure funds are reported to the agency ServiceNow tool within 30 days of procurement.
  • Negotiating with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering change orders.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualification:

  • An active SECRET or the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Bachelors degree with 5 - 7 years, or masters degree with 3 - 5 years, or PhD with 1 - 2 years experience is required; four (4) years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelors degree.
  • Ability to drive actions to mitigate potential procurement delays by identifying risks, performing root-cause analysis and development of recovery plans to bring requests back in-line with customer requirements.
  • Knowledge of Procurement procedures including Quality Assurance regulations and procedures and working to oversee or actively manage procurement for Information Technology (IT) requirements.
  • Skill with Computers using computer software programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to review procurement packages; monitors the submission of documentation to comply with formatting, completeness, consistency, and compliance according with government Requirements.
  • Ability to act as liaison between internal stakeholders and supplier partners, follow up on inquiries while maintaining healthy supplier communication both verbal and written formats.
  • Skill in Analyzing Complex, Abstract Written Information including written material such as quotes, compliance requirements, and other legal documents to understand proposals, to successfully perform the purchase process.
  • Ability to review documentation, requests edits by initiator, configuration control board (CCB) approval and when needed, prepares documentation to support the procurement process.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Ability to assist in the management of data and record disposition related to the procurement process.
  • Experience with Federal and/or DoD supply chain management policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience establishing effective partnerships within and outside the organization.
  • Detail oriented, problem solver who works well under pressure.
  • Customer service-oriented professional.

Target Salary Range:
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
