Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Photographer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in transforming the future of technology and public health. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA and will become part of Peraton’s team that supports the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) centers. Working alongside highly-skilled professionals at Peraton, you will play a vital role in communicating public health messages through photographs on behalf of CDC.

As one of CDC’s top solutions providers, you will make sure our customers get the unique, business-driven value our brand has come to represent. The candidate will support Peraton’s contract with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to assist with photoshoots, photo retouching and managing digital assets.

The primary function of the successful applicant will be to provide: project consultations; technical expertise for laboratory / clinical photography and official portraits; pre and post production (e.g. quality assessment/editing/metadata/archiving); manage time and activities within a tracking system; coverage for agency-wide events, senior leadership meetings, and dignitary visits; and managing new content for DCS’s rights-free, public health image database.

What you will do: 

• Photographs a variety of subjects including CDC laboratory/clinical photography.
• Consults with internal clients and other photographers on methods to capture, manipulate and produce quality photographs which convey CDC’s desired messaging.
• Catalogues and performs digital asset management of images via a database
• Ensures that all products meet the organization’s branding requirements and other standards as identified.
• Utilizes the customer's graphic design management system to track and provide status on assigned jobs.
• Attends team meetings and provides valuable input and maintains strong, positive interoffice and client relations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
• At least 2 years of experience in photography and photographic manipulation
• 2 years of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Light room, and/or Adobe Bridge experience.
• 3 years of experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, including creating theme and master slides. 
• Experience with applying brand standards and maintaining brand consistency across a wide range of presentations and materials.
• Experience using digital asset management software
• Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder
• Must be able to obtain and maintain the designated Agency Clearance

 Preferred Qualifications: 

• Prior experience in taking scientific photographs
• Prior experience supporting the CDC
