Responsibilities

The Peraton facility located in Princess Anne, Maryland is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the highly competent Princess Anne Mechanical Engineering team delivering world class solutions to a variety of DOD institutions. This position directly reports to the Princess Anne Mechanical Engineering Manager. The Mechanical Engineering group’s primary responsibilities involve the design and analysis of suborbital rocket class launch vehicle mechanical structures and systems, direction and coordination of activities involved in fabrication, operation, application, qualification testing, installation, and servicing of suborbital rocket mechanical structures and systems. This position is an on-call position with hours on an as needed basis. 

Responsibilities:

• Perform structural analysis on sounding rocket hardware and ground support hardware to validate the design.
• Research, develop, design, and analyze suborbital rocket mechanical structures, components, and equipment applying principles and techniques of mechanical engineering to fulfill mission requirements.
• Create Design and Manufacturing Documentation/Drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks.
• Submit documentation to Production Planning and provide oversight of fabrication in the Peraton Princess Anne Machine Shop and to Mechanical Technicians.
• The ability to receive and maintain a Secret Clearance is required for this position.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• BS Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field
• 5 years of Experience with mechanical design and analysis

Desired Qualifications:

• FEA (FEMAP with NASTRAN) experience.
