Peraton is Hiring an Architect Technical Lead Near Washington, DC

Responsibilities

This position will focus on cloud architecture and design across a multi-account multi-environment enterprise cloud offering. The cloud architect will work as part of an enterprise cloud services team and will utilize knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current cloud trends to develop cloud architecture solutions. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilizing expert knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends to identify cloud architecture solutions.
  • Apply an enterprise view of cloud and develop designs accordingly and have a willingness to branch out into multiple cloud disciplines.
  • Develop detailed documentation during planning and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain cloud security strategies, including compliance monitoring and management.
  • Develop of proof-of-concept pilots for cloud technologies
  • Proactively work to evolve/enhance the existing enterprise cloud architecture (e.g. security, automation, monitoring, etc.)
  • Collaborate with business partners, architects, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of systems and determine priority of needs.
  • Collaborate with customer teams to deliver new capabilities in business applications and/or remediate issues.
  • Implement architecture solutions and related technologies.
  • Assist in leading the team/organization with establishing or evolving cloud best practices.
  • Effectively communicate complicated cloud reports to leadership and IT partners
  • Staying current with emerging trends and advancements in cloud technologies and platforms.
  • Ensure the continued operations and maintenance of the agency business services, platforms, tools, and databases and collaborate with system owners to ensure consistency with the Agency’s IT technical architecture roadmap.
  • Lead the continuation of the Agency's ITSM Tool (ServiceNow™) support services program, to include gathering business/user requirements; development and enhancement; and administration.
  • Participate in Engineering Review Board (ERB), Architectural Review Board (ARB), and Software and Hardware Request (SHR) processes and meetings to share information, review documentation, and ensure any impact to operations is coordinated throughout.
  • Deliver updated documents with updated detailed requirements, system architecture, system/interface design, system configuration, and system/user process documentation.
  • Design, development, testing and implementation of new products, applications and services based on approved requirements and architectural guidelines.
  • Coordinate with the Agency's ITSM Tool (ServiceNow™) team on architectural changes to core software tables.
  • Update the Agency's ITSM Tool (ServiceNow™) Technical Architecture Document (TAD) for a major release or upgrade.
  • Leverage Agile methodology to define user stories, size Sprints, perform Sprint Planning and Execution, and conduct Retrospectives.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge-based articles.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification:

  • An active SECRET or the ability to obtain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 - 15 years, or master’s degree with 10 - 13 years, or PhD with 7 - 9 years’ experience is required; four (4) years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Must have at least 6 years of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience architecting across an enterprise multi-account multi-environment cloud architecture.
  • Experience architecting and designing technical solutions using combination of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Experience building and enhancing the enterprise infrastructure for an AWS multi-account architecture.
  • Experience creating enterprise-wide architecture artifacts, design documents, and other formal documentation.
  • Experience decomposing customer requirements and propose appropriate architectural solutions.
  • Experience in network design, monitoring, and security solutions.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate complicated cloud reports to management and other IT partners and management.
  • Experience with automated provisioning of infrastructure across multiple AWS accounts spanning multiple environments using Infrastructure as a Code.
  • Ability to work independently and provide effective solutions.
  • AWS Solution Architect – Associate certification required, professional preferred.

 Preferred Qualification:

  • AWS Solution Architect Professional
  • Microsoft Azure Certification
  • Demonstrated experience with app migrations to AWS/Azure leveraging services and tools.
  • Experience in hybrid cloud environment including operating public and private cloud technologies.
  • Experience with creating, deploying, configuring, and scaling infrastructure in AWS and Azure
  • Experience highly designing availability systems and infrastructure in AWS and Azure
  • Experience working with cloud native monitoring and logging tools.

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
