Peppertree Montessori is seeking an enthusiastic fully qualified Primary/Preschool Teacher for our Primary Classrooms. Our Primary program provides care and education for children from 3 years to 6 years of age. A minimum of 12 units is required for this position. Montessori Early Childhood/Primary Teaching Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement weekly lesson plans integrating the monthly curriculum
• Maintain daily lesson tracking records and observations of each child
• Be comfortable with Procare Engage or willingness and ability to learn how to use the software
• Openly communicate with parents on a daily basis regarding the progress of their child
• Ensure classroom staff is appropriately supervising and guiding children at all times
• Create an environment that is attractive, clean, and safe for children to learn, explore, and grow
• Ensure the classroom is maintaining and exceeding all health & safety requirements, and Title 22 regulations
• Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times

Skills

• A minimum of two years of proven experience teaching in a preschool classroom
• Willingness to continue to learn and implement the principles of child development and the Montessori Method
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Excellent communication and instructional skills
• Ability to multitask
• Be clean, organized, and attractive to the children
• Be organized and keep your classroom tidy and clutter free.
• Cool-tempered, friendly, and reliable
• Current certification in Pediatric CPR/First Aid
• Knowledge of Title 22 Regulations

Education:

*Montessori Primary/Early Childhood Certification (preferred)

*12 ECE/Child Development units- must include 3 units in each of the following are required:

• Child Growth and Development
• Child, Family & Community
• Infants and Toddlers
• Any Child Development Curriculum Course

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
