Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Prep Cook to join our team in the food industry. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of meals and ensuring the smooth operation of our dietary department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with culinary skills and a passion for food preparation. Duties: - Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices - Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistent quality of meals - Prepare food items according to dietary restrictions and special requests - Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area, including proper storage of food items - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service - Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes - Adhere to all food handling and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment - Assist with catering events as needed Skills: - Previous experience as a Prep Cook or similar role in the food industry is preferred - Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - Excellent knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment - Knowledge of menu planning and ability to contribute creative ideas for new dishes - Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays We offer competitive pay rates and opportunities for career advancement within our organization.
