Under the direction of the Supervisor, Mechanical Services and the Manager, Maintenance Services for the department of Facilities Services (DFS) and in collaboration with your colleagues, perform all duties related to the maintenance operation for facilities equipment throughout campus facilities on assigned days of the week during the hours of 3:30 p.m - 12:00 a.m

Skills and Qualifications
Required: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of either two years of trade-specific schooling or two years of prior facilities experience. Willing and able to attend university-sponsored job-related training as required. Technical knowledge of practices, principles, and techniques in the maintenance field. Familiar with industry-standard preventive maintenance processes. Analytical and problem-solving skills to successfully resolve issues is required. The ability to interpret plans, design specifications, and manufacturers' instructions and recommendations to ensure their proper installation, and remedy issues are required. Experience using oxygen/acetylene torches (soft solder torch), Freon recovery machine, vacuum pump, electrical meters, pressure gauges, hand power tools, sheet metal tools, computer for EMS controls, hoist, come-along, chain fall rigging, power washers, and forklifts. Strong English written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required. Must consistently project a professional demeanor and positive attitude, and be able to effectively and professionally communicate with University administrators and project clients. Willingness and ability to periodically work overtime hours, respond to emergency calls after hours/weekends, and work rotating weekend shifts providing general maintenance duties for the campus is required. Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds (and occasionally up to 100 pounds), including up and down stairs. Must hold a valid California Driver's license, maintain an acceptable DMV driving record, and remain insurable by University insurance carrier at all times while employed. Must be able to bring a current DMV driving record printout on the first day of employment. Basic computer skills are required.
Preferred: Possession of, or the ability to quickly obtain, a Universal EPA certification is preferred. Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System, preferably TMA, is preferred.

This is a Restricted, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position.
Expected Pay Range: $21.63 - $24.04 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
