Pepper Pike Staffing LLC is Hiring a Construction Project Superintendent Near Flint, MI

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Superintendent plans and coordinates the daily activities on the job site and is responsible to supervise the construction project including the oversight of sub-contractors, schedules, inventory management & deliveries, management of construction laborers and overall project quality, safety and specifications. Project Superintendent position reports to the Assistant Project Manager and/or Project Manager.


MAJOR DUTIES:


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily construction activities and act as the on-site liaison between construction and project management. Direct flow of information to Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager.
  • Manage and direct the daily activities of multiple subcontractors and vendors to ensure project scope, finishes and other renovations are being completed.
  • Manage appropriate level of inventory; order, receive and verify quantities. Provide inventory receipts to office and advise of discrepancies (shortages or damaged products).
  • Manage onsite storage and debris containers. Responsible for signing all delivery tickets and ensuring product delivery was complete and un damage. Responsible for reporting any deficiencies immediately to Project Manager.
  • Initiate field purchase orders as necessary and provide appropriate documentation to Project Manager for approval.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with all OSHA regulations; maintain a clean and orderly job site
  • Communicate weekly construction schedule and/or revisions to Property Manager
  • Provide regular on-site activity updates to the Project Manager (schedules, delays, etc.)
  • Ensure renovation projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Complete daily unit walk through of all active renovation projects. Walk completed units with Project and Regional/Property Managers for sign off and release.
  • Coordinate and participate in all third -party code inspections
  • Maintain appropriate records, logs and other project-related data.
  • Assist Project Manager and senior construction team to ensure fiscal responsibility of the project, including material handling, storage, security and sub-contractor accountability.


SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May perform on-site constructions work and/or provide assistance if necessary.
  • Provide construction experience and oversight to sub-contractors and vendors.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
:

  • Manages daily activities of third-party subcontracted employees and general construction laborers.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial construction or renovations; multi-family housing experience highly desirable
  • Must be able to obtain DOT driver’s certification and have own vehicle for travel to job site(s)
  • Ability to supervise and organize subcontractors to maintain the safety, schedule and quality of the project
  • Excellent communications skills to maintain strong relationships with all constituents – owners, management, trades and co-workers
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills combined with a collaborative approach.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills’ ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to handle moderate to high levels of stress and deal with unpredictable situations
  • A high attention to detail and a sense of urgency is essential.
  • Independent, mature judgment; conveys a professional image and attitude.
  • Required to travel to various job sites as necessary
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to learn and use various databases and planning software systems.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
:

  • The physical requirements of this position are related to a standard facilities or maintenance environment. Must be able to lift, bend, carry, move equipment and furniture, and use cleaning equipment and/or standard tools. Work is performed both inside and outside, requiring the ability to work under variable weather conditions. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to hear, talk, stand, walk, reach, stoop, or kneel. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
