The Community Nutrition and Wellness Manager will provide oversight for nutrition and wellness projects for the Tribe’s Health and Human Services Department. The Community Nutrition and Wellness Manager will create and implement wellness projects based on the needs of the Native American Community. This position will promote wellness initiatives to Native Americans to enhance their healthcare status and to promote the prevention of disease, maintenance of health and overall health and well-being of the community in a strength-based, culturally appropriate manner. 

• Implement food distribution program. 
• Manage daily operations of Food Distribution Center. 
• Serves as a Project Manager for Wellness related grants and projects. 
• Serves as a Project Manager for Nutrition related grants and projects.
• May supervise wellness and nutrition staff. 
• Implement new health initiatives and projects as needed. 
• Implement EMR and Billing System 
• Maintain good working relationships with all Tribal and Community social and health service agencies. 
• Organize work in a timely manner to meet all deadlines and schedules.
• Act as a liaison/advocate for patients with local, state and federal agencies to meet the health care needs of patients.
• Provide nutrition education. 
• Participates as needed in food distributions. 
•  Assess an individual’s unmet health and social needs to connect with community and organizational resources, including clear guidance about why and how to access these resources. 
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree in health administration and policy.
• Must have five years of experience in a healthcare related field.
• Must have five years of experience in a nutrition related field. 
• Minimal of one year experience of grant management preferred.
• Minimal three years’ experience using EMR software. 
• Candidate is familiar with local community resources and health systems. 

• Must strictly adhere to the confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational and record-keeping skills are necessary for accurate maintenance of files, correspondence and follow-up.
• Proficiency with computers and programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, EMR and the Internet.

• Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.
• Knowledge of community resources available for providing assistance to Tribal populations including state and federal agencies providing housing, employment, health services, protection of Native American rights, and other types of public assistance.

• Reliable, independent worker.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Must submit to and pass applicable drug test, TB test, and Physical.
• Must pass background investigations for suitability of character identified in accordance with
• the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act, and Child Care and Development Fund, 45 C.F.R. § 98.43(a)(2).
• Adhere to all work rules, policies & procedures, and safety standards.
