PEORIA PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT 150

POSITION TITLE: Curriculum Coordinator (MTSS Focus)

DEPARTMENT: Curriculum and Instruction

REPORTS TO: Director of Curriculum

SUPERVISES: N/A

POSITION GOAL: Responsible for coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the academic MTSS district system for grades K-8 including online and in person core curriculum and interventions. Employee will provide professional development for appropriate staff virtually, one on one, during PLCs, grade levels, departments, and whole schools. Data will be analyzed on a regular basis to support adjustments necessary for fidelity of implementation and growth on academic progress of students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: • Manage, organize, monitor, and report on academic initiatives, accountability structures • Engage teachers and administrators in providing leadership, training, guidance on data analysis interpretation and strategies for continuous improvement in literacy • Review and revise curriculum supports in collaboration with curriculum team. • Plan, schedule, and conduct district or school professional development in collaboration with curriculum team • Maintain inventory of intervention materials at district and school level • Assist the district school system with the selection of appropriate textbooks, teacher guides and other instructional materials and equipment for curriculum department • Support intervention building staff with embedded professional development for intervention resources • Facilitate Reading Teacher & Tutor Program including hiring, scheduling, and monitoring progress, maintaining records and data, liaison for statewide/national establishment • Knowledgeable about math and reading interventions that align to district instructional expectations • Establish clear procedures for staff to gain access to online learning resources • Collaborate with building leadership teams and PLC’s as necessary to support intervention implementation • Collect and analyze district data to assess and inform teaching and learning • Work collaboratively with district teaching and learning initiatives

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness • Makes regular school and classroom visits to support instructional improvement • Provides customized professional development to meet unique student needs and support differentiated instruction • Perform other duties as assigned and designated by Director of Curriculum

KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS: • Highly developed presentation skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Demonstrated leadership ability • Good technical skills with technology and presentation tools • Ability to collect and analyze statistical data, then using information to develop meaningful reports from information • Ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving instruction

QUALIFICATIONS 1. Earned Master’s degree in education (e.g., curriculum, assessment, literacy, administration, etc.) or related field from and accredited institution REQUIRED 2. Illinois Standard Professional Educator License – Endorsement for General Administrative REQUIRED 3. Experience as building administrator in elementary and/or middle school building PREFERRED 4. Knowledge of assessments, and performance benchmarks 5. Experience working with curriculum/instruction development 6. Five to seven years of teaching experience 7. Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment 8. Must have well developed organizational and communication skills (written, verbal and social) able to establish and maintain good working relationships with diverse groups of people; able to present complex information clearly

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month position

EVALUATION: Primary evaluator will be the Director of Curriculum.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with qualifications and district range.
