Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Owens Ice Center Management Team, the Ice Rink Support will be responsible for the following:

• This position encompasses a wide range of duties which may include but are not limited to: on-ice instruction for group classes, on-ice referee, facility supervision, ice maintenance, operation of ice resurfacer, patron services, and general daily upkeep of the facility.
• Ensuring a safe and pleasant atmosphere.
• Presenting a positive, enthusiastic image of the Peoria Park District, Owens Ice Center, and its recreation programs.
• Harmoniously dealing with the public enthusiastically and cooperatively.
• Follows all safety procedures that pertain to the duties performed. Supports all aspects of the Park District’s safety program.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education Some High School. At least 18 years of age preferred

Experience Previous experience with ice skating, ice maintenance, customer service, and facility operation desired.

Knowledge and Ability

• Ability to understand and maintain supervision of facility users in accordance with the facility rules and policies.
• Knowledge of basic first aid skills and ability to utilize these skills as necessary.
• Ability to harmoniously relate to employees and the public of all ages.
• Ability to work harmoniously with the public in an enthusiastic manner.
• Ability to be professional, respectful, accountable, innovative, to follow safety procedures, and be equitable to both internal and external customers.
