PeopleLift is Hiring a Quality Tech Lead Near hartboro, PA

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for examining all technical aspects of our corrugated box machinery and looking for points of quality contention. They will be in charge of managing all built-in quality features for all machines. They will be in charge of coordinating with our maintenance team on timely repairs. They will have full abilities to explore options not currently installed and work through our approvals process to help us continuously improve. This role will help us improve our SOP process, lead us in implementing a formal Cost of Poor Quality process, lead us in all internal & external audits, and set in motion the framework to get us ISO certified.

Duties / Expectations

 Participate in QMS annual review and audit prep activities (regulatory and customer)

 70/30 plant floor to office time

 Responsible for customer document request preparation

 Assist with Material Review Board Team

 Manage Acme’s CoPQ program (with potential to expand to total CoQ in the future) and report on trends

 Work closely with Maintenance Dept. to identify and diagnose product quality deficiencies related to machine maintenance

 Gain in-depth understanding of industry machinery & be able to promote good housekeeping practices, maintenance of machine quality features and implementation of new asset quality features.

 Utilize technical expertise to gauge functionality of quality stopgap machine features

and work on continuous resolutions with our maintenance team and external 3 rd parties

 Continue to broaden our machine quality features via continuous improvement projects

 Aid us in expanding our proactive quality measures via innovation

 Conduct in process product inspections

 Manage internal root cause CAPA program with goals of reducing internal non-

conformance events

 Assist Quality Manager in driving customer requested Root Cause Analysis with assistance of Operations Leadership

 Assist Quality Manager in driving control plans, failure mode and effects analysis, and production part approval process.

 Identify non-conformance trends and present data to the OPEX Leadership team to identify areas of CI deployment and initiatives

 Assist in preparing PPT’s and data packages for monthly Gain Share meetings

 Hold non-conformance review meetings with operations crews responsible for a non-conformance that exceeds cost or material thresholds

 Other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager

 Flexibility in schedule to allow for work on all 3 shifts, as needed (primarily a first shift position)

Experience / Essential Qualities

 4 years in quality control or assurance function

 Previous experience in manufacturing / industrial environment

 Previous experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies

o Certifications preferred (i.e. – Green/Black Belt, Lean Masters Certification…etc.)

 Advanced knowledge of quality tools, including but not limited to 8D / Root Cause Analysis, 5-Why, Ishikawa Diagram, SPC, Kaizen

 Previous experience leading cross functional teams

 Ability to read and understand machine schematics

 Project leadership experience

Leadership Attributes:

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 Ability to positively interact with production personnel on quality issues

 Self-motivated/Self-starter

 Strong Analytical Capabilities

 Ability to be a change agent and develop strong sustainment measures

Preferences

 Internal/External auditing experience is a plus

 ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred

 Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred

 Packaging industry experience a plus, but not required

 Technical writing skill a plus

Education

 Bachelor’s degree (BS) in engineering/packaging or related field experience
