Hamilton Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing RN / Infection Preventionis for our skilled nursing facility in Detroit, MI!

The Assistant Director of Nursing RN / Infection Preventionist is responsible for the overall organization of the nursing department, and also for the prevention, investigation, monitoring and reporting of the spread of diseases in hospital.

This is a full-time position

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department
• Participate in interviewing and screening residents for admission to the facility
• Review nurses’ notes to ensure proper documentation is maintained relating to resident’s treatment, medications, and conditions
• Assist the Resident Assessment/Care Plan Coordinator in planning, scheduling, and revising the MDS, including the implementation of RAP’s and triggers.
• Provides Orientation for all new Employees and ongoing training for all current Employees
• Plans and schedules In-services with speakers from inside and outside Company
• Maintains master Training Planner/Schedule for all departments
• Ensures all required In-services are conducted annually
• Maintains reports and Training Records of all training conducted

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse of this state
• Over two years’ supervisory experience in a long-term care, hospital, or related facility
• Must have knowledge of state and federal regulations
• Experience with geriatric population preferred
• Knowledgeable in the principles of infection prevention and public health nursing, with practical experience necessary
