We have an opportunity for a IoT Site Reliability Engineer to join our Apex, NC team. You will be responsible for ensuring secure and reliable IoT product development across all stages of the software development cycle. This individual must have the ability and drive required to complete projects that meet or exceed customer expectations and delivery timeframes. This role reports to the Enterprise Principal IoT Architect and will work directly with key business stakeholders (locally and globally) and engineering teams. Travel is expected to be minimal on an as-needed basis.

You will:

• Collaborate with developers and product owners.
• Quantify failure and availability in a prescriptive manner using Service Level Indicators(SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs)
• Leverage tooling and automation: automate manual tasks.
• Help create highly observable ecosystems.
• Responsible for well-functioning of the platforms for assigned eco-systems (all environments Sandbox/UX - Dev - QA - UAT - Production). All must be safe and optimized on: Operations, Availability, Security and Resilience
• Collaborate with eco-system teams (stakeholders, engineers, developers, and others) to operate highly observable eco-systems ("single pane of glass")
• Track the leading indicators of success/failure (latency, traffic, errors, saturation, etc.) for all services in near real-time to help teams identify issues faster.
• Develop/operate information radiators that provide the necessary insights, derived from the data, to enable quick, decisive, accurate action.
• Ensure eco-system teams focus on:
  • Access policies
  • FTR development
  • Code delivery pipelines
  • DR (Incident management and change management)
  • IaC
  • Realization of tooling to standardize and automate everything.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (preferred: Software Engineering or Computer Science)
• 5 years of development and DevSecOps IoT experience (prefer Python and AWS)
• Working knowledge of, and understanding how to apply:
  • Lifecycle asset management
  • Configuration management
  • Risk management
  • Loss elimination
  • Predictive strategies
