Position Summary:
This role supports development of the logistics design plan for customer inbound supply chain network. The Logistics Planner creates instruction for internal groups and the customer’s providers to implement the logistics plan. Identifies opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings, undertakes the necessary analysis, and effectively proposes change to the customer.
Shift:
Typically 7:30am - 4:00pm
Job Responsibilities:
-Develops all day-to-day route design deliverables for the customer to conform with internal policies and prevailing regulations
-Supports the coordination of the logistics systems implementation with the customer, customer’s suppliers, transportation suppliers and Penske team members
-Provides data/information for management reporting on departmental performance
-Utilizes customer’s electronic data order interchange
-Provides input into management reporting in support of data-driven decisions
-Other projects as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications:
-High School diploma or GED equivalent required
-Two year degree / certificate in Supply Chain Management preferred
-Previous experience in transportation / third party logistics discipline required
-Exercise great attention to detail
-Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Inter / Intranet use
-Strong problem solving and organization skills required
-Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others in a team environment
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
