ABOUT THE POSITION

The Programmer/Analyst provides high-level IT Support with application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users to determine hardware, software, or systems functional specifications. The design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems programs, including prototypes based on and related to user or systems design specifications. This full-time position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism, customer service, communication, and organization. Candidates must be available to work a schedule from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with some flexibility, of Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid or remote position: hybrid work arrangements allow for up to three days per week of remote work after onboarded in position and in consideration of onsite coverage needs. Remaining schedule is completed in corporate office location

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop programs in RPG LE and Free Form.
  • Supports the Company and departments with report requests and delivery.
  • Troubleshoots iSeries program errors, messages, and alerts.
  • Collaborates with business and IT leadership to automate and/or optimize business processes.
  • Works directly with the ERP vendor on support and development initiatives.
  • Installation & testing of IBM Power Systems software updates.
  • Supports month end processing and email campaign requests.
  • Completes other related duties as assigned, customary to department and role.

Required Education and Experience

  •  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a combination of education and experience
  • 8 years of software development experience 
  • 5 years of recent experience with IBM Power Systems (formerly AS/400 or iSeries), IBM I (formerly OS/400 and i5/OS), and RPG IV, SQL, and CL required
  • Knowledge or understanding of how IBM iSeries applications work; Exposure to application components: UI, server architecture, system architecture and databases; Familiar with DB2 database architecture
  • Strong linear focus: Able to walk through detail for planning and executing a development/ERP solution
  • Comprehensive understanding of SDLC processes
  • Knowledge and experience using source code control
  • Experience with T-SQL data query/definition language
  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical requirements

Candidates with the following preferred experience will stand out from the rest:

  • Experience in S2K preferred but not required.
  • 5 years’ experience with Windows operating system, Crystal Reports and Microsoft Office preferred
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum driven delivery methodology is preferred
