Overview

The Investment Accounting Analyst will be responsible for maintaining accurate books & records, day-to-day reporting, entity management, and treasury functions for all corporate, investment, and partnership entities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accounting and treasury management for all investment entities, ensuring expenses, receipts, investor activity, capital calls, distributions and other transactions are accurately recorded on corporate, investment, and property entities in Yardi.
• Analyze & reconcile all corporate, investment, and partnership entity balance sheet accounts on a periodic basis.
• Understand corporate, investment, and property entities’ operating structures, partnership agreements, and compliance requirements.
• Deliver accurate & timely financial reporting to investors, lenders, and other management teams.
• Prepare annual budgets for corporate, investment, and partnership entities.
• Assist with preparation of workpapers for annual audits & tax returns.
• Prepare state and local tax filings for applicable jurisdictions.
• Liaise with third-party service providers to ensure annual corporate filings are prepared and filed timely for applicable jurisdictions.
• Closely monitor jurisdictional compliance requirements for all entities.
• Respond promptly to requests from management teams and clients/JV partners regarding various accounting issues and reports.
• Maintain and organize an entity document library in Sharepoint.
• Assist with special projects and other related duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA and/or Master’s degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in public accounting with exposure to both tax and audit services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting required.
• Experience with GAAP consolidations preferred.
• Real estate, especially affordable, multifamily housing experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical and technical skills with demonstrated expertise in financial analysis and modeling.
• Experience working with a major general ledger / enterprise accounting software system. Yardi experience a plus.
• Must be organized and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter and a passion for making an impact in the organization.
