Description

General Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the data operations function; coordinating work within the unit or department, as well as with other departments and units; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information; adhering to internal policies, procedures, and practices; providing guidance and on-the-job training to new Data Processing Operators; assisting the immediate supervisor with administrative tasks to support department/unit operations.

Essential Duties

1. Regular attendance is required and will vary by position. For your specific schedule and hours, please discuss with your supervisor or division head. These hours are determined at the beginning of the year by your supervisor and are submitted to HR on the Budgeted Hours report. Based on need, the Bank does reserve the right to adapt at any point.

2. Performs a variety of duties to support the data operations function of which the following are illustrative:

a. Responsible for ensuring completeness of all new CIS/Deposit Accounts and performing maintenance to existing CIS/Deposit Accounts a requested by personnel.

b. Operates the computer and peripheral equipment, observing peripheral equipment, such as disk and tape drives, reader, printer, and the control console for error lights, program run verification, error messages, equipment stoppage, incorrect operating instructions, etc.

c. Corrects minor operating problems by entering alternative or corrected operating commands through the control console; notifies appropriate personnel of equipment malfunctions and operating problems that could not be corrected by routine procedures.

d. Monitors printers and loads appropriate forms or paper.

e. Loads input and output units with necessary materials, such as backup disks and printout forms, for program runs in accordance with program and operating instructions; occasionally is responsible for the "shut down" of on-line processing, ensuring that pertinent bank reports are retrieved and stored, and for the running of the nightly report, processing data according to schedule provided.

f. Regularly sorts computer-prepared reports and prepares them for distribution to bank departments.

g. Maintains contact with user departments to correct problems in the data communications network.

h. Performs minor preventive maintenance on data processing equipment, such as monitoring backup disk functionality, changing printer toner, and dusting and cleaning equipment covers.

i. Downloads reports to the document image system and verifies accuracy of the file download.

j. Assists in scanning customer new account and maintenance documents to document archival system.

k. Resolves non-post items for FMS & SDB.

l. Maintains logs of system utilization and monitors computer supplies, replenishing stock to maintain supply levels.

m. Reviews reports for net differences or branch clearing differences.

n. Documents system downtime, reasons, and resolution.

o. Verifies adherence to backup disk rotation procedures.

p. Performs runs of programs throughout the day to extract and process electronic transactions such as ACH, POS, etc.

q. Performs runs of programs related to Accounts Payable and Shareholders.

r. Responsible for verifying request completeness and entering maintenance requests to specifications.

s. Responsible for reviewing team members maintenance by routine procedures

3. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the unit or department as well as with other units and departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.

4. Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate bank personnel.

5. Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.

6. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness.

7. Provides leadership, on-the-job training, and technical guidance to back-up(s).

8. Assists the immediate supervisor with various administrative tasks to support department/unit operations, as directed; may also be assigned special projects.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; specialized computer operations education and training.

Skill(s): Moderate reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; technical knowledge of computer commands, equipment operating instructions, and output requirements; moderate interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate typing skills; ability to stand, stoop, reach, and lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; familiarity with navigating Microsoft Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Word & Excel, Adobe Acrobat

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years related experience normally required.
