    Purdy Elementary 2nd Grade Teacher
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Has a valid Michigan Elementary teaching certificate
    • Knowledge of and able to apply best instructional practices essential to inquiry based teaching and learning
    • Strong personal integrity and professional ethics
    • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
    • Possess good communication skills
    • Positive behavioral support experience preferred
    • Knowledge of PBIS, Multi- Tiered Systems of Support, Houghton Mifflin Into Read and Into Literature, Heggerty, Daily 5 / CAFÉ strategies, Common Core Curriculum, MAISA writing units, Math Recovery and BCAMSC Science Kits preferred
    • Familiarity with Tiered Systems of Support, both academically and behaviorally
    • Experience working with students of varying academic, social and emotional abilities
    • Possess good communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to hold conversations with teachers about student achievement data
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Ability to plan and coordinate with general education teachers
    • Ability to maintain accurate records and meet multiple deadlines
    • A desire to continue to grow as a professional
    • Ability/experience leading team meetings
    • Understands diversity of student learning styles and can skillfully prepare and apply differentiated learning experiences
    • Demonstrates ability to use data to drive instructional decisions
    • Computer literate with a proven proficiency to effectively apply and integrate technology to support meaningful teaching and successful student learning
    • Experience/training in Restorative Practices, PLCs, and Trauma Informed Care is preferred
    • Ability to develop/sustain positive working relationships with students, staff, and the school community
    • Motivates students and influences their behavior
    • Creates and executes clear, logical instructional plans collaboratively that produce strong results in student learning
    • Maintains and communicates standards of pupil behavior and classroom management expectations for the purpose of providing a safe and secure learning environment
    • Creates and thrives in a professional environment that is one of mutual respect, teamwork, and accountability
    • Maintain the drive for results by demonstrating persistence, directness, and the ability to monitor and plan ahead
    • Understands and implements Board of Education Policy, Administrative Guidelines, and organizational practices for the purpose of consistency and compliance
    SALARY: Based on Teacher Contract and Salary Schedule
    REPORTS TO: Purdy Principal
    STARTING DATE: As soon as possible
